thE grammar of schooling (2023)
An idea I find particularly interesting and puzzling is the “grammar of schooling,” proposed by educators Tyack and Cuban (1995). It refers to the organizational structures that persist in schools, shaping how we learn—like grammar in a language, these structures are normalized and internalized. This video explores why the grammar of schooling persists and uses satire to criticize the absurdity of its enduring elements.
